We got into the Kunekune world in 2017. We saw them first at a farm show. I grew up with destroying commercial pigs and didn't even go into the idea of having pigs until I saw them and saw they didn't destroy your small homestead. Instead they added to the whole ecology. So we primarily breed for pasture pork production. We want to go one more step into our self sustainability. We love to be able create a great breed standard to pass onto other breeders. We want sow's with high maternal instinct, long bodied sow with a minimum of ten teats to feed all the babies! We also strive to have litters that are consistent birthweights and want animals that can finish within 12-18 months. As we have small children we need docile animals, both boars and sows. This breed in an amazing addition to any farm!
